FEP Encapsulated O-Rings
A FEP envelope with elastomer core – the perfect combination of chemical resistance and dimensional stability
FEP-O-SEAL® seals ideally combine the elastic properties of elastomer O-rings with the chemical resistance of FEP (fluoroethylene propylene). FEP-O-SEAL® O-rings consist of two components: a seamless FEP envelope and an elastomer core that guarantees dimensional stability. The FEP Cover is FDA-compliant, conforms to EC 1935/2004 article 3, 3-A Sanitary Standard, USP Class VI and is ADI free. FEP encapsulated O-rings are advanced sealing solutions combining the chemical resistance of fluoropolymer materials with the elasticity of an elastomer core. Designed for highly demanding industrial environments, these seals provide exceptional resistance to aggressive chemicals, solvents, acids, fuels and high temperatures while maintaining reliable sealing performance. APSOparts offers FEP encapsulated O-rings for applications in chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage production, semiconductor technology, biotechnology and high-purity industrial systems. The FEP-encapsulated O-rings have a core of VMQ or FKM and can be ordered from stock.
Advantages of FEP-O-SEAL® O-Rings
- extremely high chemical resistance against most liquids and chemicals
- Temperature range: operating temperatures from -60°C up to +250°C (depending on the core material)
- good resistance to pressure, compression and deformation
- low steam permeability and minimal water absorption combined with low cold flow compared to PTFE
- durability and reliable service
- economical maintenance costs
- compatibility with foodstuffs
- non-adhesive smooth surface
