O-Rings in FFKM Perfluoro Elastomer (KALREZ®)
The high-performance material perfluoro elastomer, known by the abbreviation FFKM, combines the elasticity and sealing force of an elastomer with the very high chemical resistance of PTFE.
Advantages of FKKM
Due to its special material properties, FFKM is primarily used in industries such as the chemical, pharmaceutical, life science, semiconductor and oil and gas industries wherever a high sealing effect, exceptional chemical resistance and thermal stability are required.
The proven consistent performance of Kalrez® seals means that seal changes, repairs and inspections are less frequent and process and equipment uptime is extended, maximising productivity and yield.

Kalrez® 4079 offers very broad chemical resistance with low compression set and a maximum operating temperature up to 316°C.
Kalrez® 6375 is an excellent choice for use in acids, bases, amines, steam, ethylene oxide and many other aggressive chemicals and this at operating temperatures up to 275°C.
Kalrez® 6230 (black material) and Kalrez® 6221 (white material) are mainly used in the pharmaceutical and life science industries and are therefore FDA compliant and USP Class VI approved.
Even more sealing solutions for the highest demands
Besides the standard materials, there are numerous specific materials for special seals and applications. In the oil and gas sector, for example, this is Kalrez® 0090 with NORSOK M710 approval, in the semiconductor industry Kalrez® 8002, Kalrez® 9100, Kalrez® 9300 and all materials with the annex UP are often used and for life science the materials LS390, LS 222 and LS 205 are used. For low temperatures Kalrez® 0040 is recommended with a low temperature performance down to -42°C, while for maximum temperatures Kalrez® 7075 with an operating temperature up to 327°C is the right solution.
